The Nordboe family of Chinook, Montana has been
steadily improving their 1960 Falcon station wagon.
When they brought it to the 50th anniversary of the
Falcon in Dearborn in 2010, it looked rough but much
better than when he found it in a field. Their three
young sons, Jackson Donald, 6, Jameson Randal, 3,
and Jefferson Joshua, 19 months all "help" with the
Falcon. So does Jana! Read about their adventures
beginning on page 13.

Special Disaster Edition
FCA Members Ron Talley and Scot
Thayer both experienced disasters. In Ron's case, it was a
natural disaster in the form of tornadoes in Alabama. He
gathered his friends and equipment and threw himself into the
relief effort, all the while reporting for The National
Falcon News. Can you help? Contact a relief center in your
area to see what is needed.
Scot Thayer is just happy to be alive
after a second tire blowout led to him deep sixing his 1961
Falcon into a very messy pond. He had been thinking he needed a
new Falcon project - now he has one! |

OK, wait a minute. This month’s Falcon
is red too! Well, Cadillac Crimson Pearl
Red, as a matter of fact—and yes, it
does make a difference. This Falcon is a
beauty, inside and out. The Editor had
the opportunity to visit with Richard
and Marilee and get the lowdown on their
gorgeous car at the 2010 National Meet
in Dearborn, Michigan.
They
were kind enough to follow up with an
"update"—not always a good thing, but in
this case everything turned out fine.
See the whole heartwarming FCA story
starting on page 4.
T his
is the first of a series Destination:
Dearborn articles, conducted and
photographed at the 2010 National Meet
in Dearborn, Michigan. Look for more,
along with the rest of the Getting Down
in Dover series in the next few months.

should be on the cover? Send high

Alex

There was so much convention coverage! And so little room! So we’ve decided to run more in this issue—and in February. This issue covers Dick Harrington’s very popular hands on Tech Session as well as a look at the folks and Falcons on the show field. Next month will feature Field Correspondent Rainer Hantschel’s look at the affair and comprehensive coverage of the valve cover races. They’re getting so competitive! Use this opportunity to sign up for this year’s meet in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Plan your vacation around it, the area is majestic with lots of good hiking, shopping, dining and family activities. Think your Falcon should be on the cover of The National Falcon News? Send high resolution digital files (300 dpi at 100%) to the Editor, along with a few paragraphs about you and your Falcon.
